EQUIPMENT PLANNINGQuestions to ask before planning equipment finance
A joined-up equipment conversation considers the clinical requirement, supplier, ongoing support and financing partner.
Define the operational need
Clarify which service the equipment supports, what capability is required and how the team expects to use it. Keep clinical stakeholders involved in defining specifications.
Look beyond purchase price
Installation, training, maintenance, parts, consumables, warranties and uptime can affect the total cost and continuity of service. Ask suppliers what is included and what remains separate.
Map the decisions and partners
Identify who approves the purchase, who supplies and services the equipment, and which finance provider may be relevant. Confirm each party’s requirements early.
Keep the funding terms clear
Review eligibility, fees, repayment obligations and conditions directly with the finance provider. Funding is never assured until the provider confirms its decision.
